Huajiang Canyon Bridge Opened To Traffic

Huajiang Canyon Bridge is a highway channel in Guizhou Province, China. It is located in the Beipanjiang Huajiang section at the junction of Guanling Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province and above the Huajiang Grand Canyon Scenic Area of the National 3A-level scenic spot. The bridge is a steel truss suspension bridge. 

The Huajiang Canyon Bridge surpasses the Beipanjiang First Bridge and becomes the new "world's tallest bridge". It is named after it crosses the Huajiang Grand Canyon, known as the "earth crack". The bridge is a key control project for the Liuzhi to Anlong Expressway in Guizhou. It has a total length of 2,890 meters, a span of the main bridge is 1,420 meters, and a height of 625 meters from the bridge deck to the water surface. The span of the main bridge ranks first in the world in the mountainous area and the bridge height ranks first in the world. It is called "horizontal and vertical" and is the world's first in the world.

The Huajiang Canyon Bridge officially started construction on January 18, 2022 and opened to traffic on September 28, 2025. It took three years and eight months. After completion and opening, the traffic time between Guanling and Zhenfeng Bank was shortened from 2 hours to 2 minutes.

After the bridge was completed, it greatly improved regional transportation conditions, drove the development of industries such as agricultural product sales, homestays and catering, cultural and creative products along the route, and helped drive the development of tourism resources such as surrounding ethnic minority villages, cliff vacations and outdoor extreme sports. It together with the Balinghe Bridge and Pingtang Super Bridge, etc., form a Guizhou bridge and tourism resource matrix, injecting new impetus into the regional economic and social development. In July 2025, the Huajiang Canyon Bridge won the title of "Excellent Project Department for News and Publicity of Key Highway Projects" in 2024.
